Photo Copyright Registration: Protect Your Personal Images

Photo & Image Protection · From $699.99

Stop Your Photos from Being Shared, Exposed, or Abused Online

Photo Copyright Registration: $699.99 for up to 10 photos, paid once. We file your U.S. Copyright Office registration within 3 business days of receiving your photos, you get the Office’s case number within 24 hours of filing, and we start DMCA takedowns on every copy we find the same day. The certificate typically follows in 2–6 months and is dated from the day we filed. Rated 5.0 on Google · 98 reviews across 5 offices.

Your dating photos are not public property. Screenshots from dating apps, texts or social media spread without your consent on AWDTSG groups, Reddit, TikTok and group chats, and they damage reputations, relationships and careers. You already own the copyright in every photo you took. Registration puts that ownership on the public record in your name, dated from filing day, which is what makes a takedown hard to argue with and gives you a court option if the poster fights back.

Need the certificate fast? The Rush filing add-on (+$1,199.99, plus the Copyright Office’s $800 special-handling fee at cost) gets the certificate in about 5 business days. It is for clients preparing legal action, because the Office requires a stated reason.

How it works, step by step

1 · Send your photos

Upload the originals from your phone or camera through our secure link, up to 10 photos. We confirm which ones qualify and who owns each one. Nothing is filed until you approve the list.

2 · We file within 3 business days

We prepare and file your registration with the U.S. Copyright Office in your name, within 3 business days of receiving your photos, or your money back.

3 · Case number within 24 hours

The Office emails its confirmation and your case number within 24 hours of filing. Your registration is effective from that day.

4 · Takedowns start the same day

We send DMCA notices to every platform hosting a copy, quoting your case number, and send you proof as each copy comes down.

5 · Certificate in 2–6 months

The Office mails your certificate, typically in 2–6 months (current average 3.4 months). Preparing legal action? Rush filing brings that to about 5 business days.

Filed within 3 business days of receiving your photos, or your money back. Certificate times are the U.S. Copyright Office’s own published averages (3.4 months for online claims with no correspondence, cases closed to 30 September 2026), not a promise we control, which is why we never sell the certificate as fast unless you add Rush filing.

Don’t let your image be weaponized. Take control, starting today.

Top questions about photo copyright registration

Do I need the certificate before you can remove a post?

No. You own the copyright from the moment the photo was taken, so we can send takedown notices to Facebook, Reddit, TikTok and Google the day you hire us. The registration, filed within 3 business days with the case number back within 24 hours, is the public record that backs those notices and gives you a court option if the poster pushes back.

The U.S. Copyright Office emails its confirmation and case number within 24 hours of filing. An examiner then reviews the claim. The certificate typically arrives in 2–6 months (the Office’s published average is 3.4 months, longer if it has questions), and the registration is dated from the day we filed.

The person who pressed the shutter, unless they sign it over. Selfies are yours. For a photo a friend or a photographer took, we send a one-line written assignment for them to sign before we file it in your name; without it the Office can refuse the claim.

The Copyright Office offers special handling for claims tied to pending or prospective legal action: it aims to examine the claim within 5 working days for an $800 fee, which we pass through at cost. Our Rush add-on is $1,199.99 on top of the standard registration and covers preparing and certifying the request. If you only want the post removed, you don’t need it.

If the poster files a counter-notice, the platform restores the content unless the owner sues within about two weeks, and for a U.S. work you cannot sue until the registration has issued. Registering before the infringement, or within three months of first publication, also unlocks statutory damages of $750 to $30,000 per work (up to $150,000 if wilful) and attorney’s fees.

No. We need proof that the photos are yours: the originals from your phone (with their EXIF data) or the app screenshots showing them on your profile. If a friend or a photographer took a photo, we send a one-line written assignment for them to sign before we file it in your name.

Your registration covers every copy of the photo, so a repost gets a fresh takedown under the same claim: send us the link and we file. Monthly AWDTSG + Tea monitoring ($499.99 a month) scans weekly and catches reposts for you.

Filings and takedowns are confidential, and we never contact the person who posted. The platform may pass a takedown notice to them, as the law requires, but the notice is sent by MGMT Reputation as your authorised agent, so our contact details appear, not yours.
